I deal with this problem also in my work place people have tons of elementary questions but are not willing to get a book and educate themselves on the subject. I don't mind explaining the technology but I don't want to explain how to build a jar. I wish I had time to help with the moderation of the forum but I am just not around a computer enough.

| I say they should only have access to "it starts here" and "open to all" sections of the forums until they become "online book members". Why give them anything else without supporting the forum!!

I agree with Bailey, however I think it would also be a good idea to change the verification, so that when people get there 3 strikes they can try again in 24 hours or something like that... seems like folks are have a problem with that and if they are book owners they should not have to wait the additiional 2 weeks when they fail on their 3 chances...
It's all good. Keep it simple, and never give up.
