Thanks for that, what did you do to lean down the petrol? Because I was using more fuel, but the car had more power.
I got glass jars off my sister in law. The greggs coffee lid [plastic got sucked in] so I used a metal one, insulating one of the power terminals.
I have ordered some jars with lids from 'The Plastic Box' but I'm not sure the're the right ones but will let you know.

Thanks for that. How did you lean it down?
I maybe onto some jars with lids, but will let you know.
My sister inlaw gave me some 'Agee' preserving jars which are ideal.
It's really the lids which are hard to get.

i am still sourcing parts at this stage, yet to start ... let you know how i go. would you believe i found agee jars under the house! hope the rest is this easy. from what i understand so far the map sensor enhancer is for adjusting fuel air mix... makes you want a carburetter eh!

do you have an air inlet on your jar that should stop a lid gettig sucked in

You can use the 'Agee' metal lids too if you isolate one of the electrodes. A plastic factory gave me a 6mm off cut of perspex. The wire is 2x2 strands of 1mm braided stainless doubled. 7 meters of per unit.
My unit was going well but was using more fuel. So I spose I will have to try a Mapse and also they talk about o2 extenders in the forum.

Gentlemen,

Forgive me for jumping in unanounced, (lol), but I was brousing this section since I've always had a desire to visit NZ. Anyway, a couple of your questions "caught my eye". So in the interests of happy members, I hope you don't mind my 52 cents worth.

Westie asked: "do you have an air inlet on your jar that should stop a lid gettig sucked in",

You absolutely have to have an air inlet, (VERY small) so that the H.H.O. can be drawn out. Air in, H.H.O. out. As far as the lids being "sucked in" if you have a very small air inlet, that will happen, (with a good vacuum) and is not a bad thing. Just means that the H.H.O. is being sucked out of the electrolyzer. But, with no air inlet, the H.H.O. in the bottle can not be drawn out.

Dennis08:

Before you spend a lot of money on a MAP enhanser or even a little on extenders, try wrapping the exposed part of your 02 sensor(s) with 5 or 6 layers of aluminum foil, (tie it on with some thin wire) then, disconnect your battery for about 30 to 60 minutes, and give the MAP sensor time to reset itself.

Keep in mind, after the electrolyzers are determined to not leak, and are installed, even before the engine is started, the 02 sensors HAVE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. If you don't null out the 02 sensor(s), no MAP will help you gain on mpg. (Or at least, not for more than a few miles).

OK, I'll leave now. Just call me nosy.

I was glad you butted in. We Kiwi's love this what we call 'number 8 wire technology' [improvising]
I do have an air inlet as in the book. The plastic was too thin on the plastic lid I had on it.
Today after reading your message. I disconnected the battery for over an hour, Found the 2 o2 sensors & wrapped them in foil. [Carl was right about the one after the catalytic convertor] re-connected the electrolyzer & battery. Went to town, travelled 7.8 klms & the fuel gauge dropped by 1/8th. So I took it all off again.
So, I feel like giving up again. Though I do believe it works.

And Carl, the new design of the electrolyzer [closer spacings on the electrodes] I think will take twice the wire. And from what I read in the forum the welders stainless will last longer. I think it's a single strand is .8 -.9mm diameter.

Dennis, Don't give up. Somewhere in all that you have done, there is a reason for low mpg. Half of the joy in succeeding comes from overcoming obstacles.

After posting the above, I got to thinking about your insulated terminal. Is it possible that air can leak in around that?

The reason that I ask is, if excess air is coming into the jar, it will be the same as having a leaky vacuum line, i.e., loss of power and higher gas consumption.

As far as the 02 sensors are concerned, when wrapped, they send an electrical charge to the MAP sensor that tells it that the fuel supply is too rich, so the MAP sensor causes the fuel flow to be leaner. This is necessary before you will see any gains in mpg.

Extenders move the o2 sensor out of the exhaust flow, so that it cannot read the excess oxygen that we put in with the electrolyzer(s). I can't really say which method is best. I have had very good results by merely wrapping the 02 sensors. I've never used the extenders (yet).

I sealed the bottom of the terminals , so they won't leak.

please chip in. we can all use the input and advice.have read a bit in the o2 sensor section and it seems some version of enhancer (eg D17 or equivalent) is the way to go . or is it worth trying extenders and wrapping first.
