Hi,

New to this great forum and I'm researching a question about my H.H.O. setup before I am ready to test.

I have a '97 Land Rover Range Rover 4.0 v8 (gas guzzler) and it requires that I always use Premium fuel. I am installing dual Electrolizer Generators and a MAF Sensor Enhanser to fine tune the mix. I have been informed by several comments from other forums that I will be able to switch to Regular gas because the Electrolizers increase the Octane mix to prevent knocks without damage from using Regular and will burn cleaner.

Before I try the switch does anyone have an experience, feedback or suggestions re: this theory?

Thanks for any constructive and positive info you can pass on.

hi...to answer your question..it certainly does improve the combustibility of gas...and octane ratings are as follows...lower the rating..the more rapidly combustion will happen. The higher octane is for a more controlled combustion..like race cars..high performance and the like. The HOD  system causes the gas to detonate more evenly and completely.so yes...87 octane will perform like 92 in your car.However...ethanol is about 75% as efficient as gas....so when you buy gas that is around 10%ethanol..you are not getting as much gas.Try asking the gas station what percent of ethanol they use.Enjoy and good luck

It's all good. Keep it simple, and never give up.

Thanks WestEdge

Sounds like I'm heading in the right direction. As for the 'Ethanol', I live in CA (near Monterey) and I didn't realize that this in the gas. So am I correct to understand that the lower the Ethanol % the better the mileage with the H.H.O. setup? Our Octane is so low here in the states. When I lived in China the Octane was from 93-98 (I was there last week). And last year when we were in the UK there was 1 rating and I think it was 95-96 hence I got better gas mileage on my rental than here.

Thanks again and any more feedback to help me get through this would be greatly appreciated. The H.H.O. 'stuff' is on the way and I'm not the most mechanical person these days in trying to find the right locations under the hood to connect everything. The Rover looks complicated but I have to try this as I'm fed up with the ridiculous gas prices and what they're doing to us.

In general, sensor enhancers are good to use. Altering the voltage ( of the sensor) does have its benefits. Pre-ignition, you do not have as much authority with the car's computer compared to if you had modified sensors before and after. That is why older cars see better results. I wish I could just rip this damned thing out. It is really a gas waster. Overshooting and injecting fuel which will never be burned and undershooting which over time wears engine. Hey they are only designed to be at most what about 25% efficient. Common my guy.

I'm thinking of selling her and going old school. To hell with all of that computer stuff. I hear the EFIE does not even work as well as everyone has hoped. It's not that the design is bad but the computers don't like it. hmmmm
