I think Water4Gas has inflicted me with a severe case of "bi-polarism", i.e.; extreem elation, then severe depression. Just kidding of course. The facts: I built my first unit, and installed it in a 1989 Chevy P.U. with a 350 CID engine, 4 bbl carb., auto transmission W/cruise control (not used during tests), crew cab and heavy camper shell. Prior to installing the unit, I made 2 fifty mile runs (hiway) to establish a (hopefully) firm baseline mileage. I recorded an average of 15.02 mpg. I then installed the unit, with 1 vacuum line, tee'd in just in front of the pcv valve. (Keep in mind, the owner and I were so anxious to test this out, [and I was still learning how to "navigate" the W4G site] that this was all that I did. Oxy/map sensors be damned, full speed ahead!!]) Frankly, about the only thing I did read, prior to the tests, was the safety instructions. I then made a run over the same course, (50 mile), and found that I had gained approx. 19% in mpg. Not much, but enough to convince me that this technology is viable. And at 71 years of age, if I can do it, anyone should be able to do it. Anyway, we were so elated that I installed two more units. Oh, I should mention, these were installed in the "old way", i.e., hoses from one unit to the next. Also wired the "old way". (I hadn't got to "What's new", yet). So, still using the original baseline, (15.02 mpg), we drove the 50 mile course again, refilled, then calculated the current mpg. (Are you ready for this??) we went from 15.02 mpg to 29.274 mpg! An increase of over 98% mpg. Now, we come to the downside of my newly aquirred "bi-polarism". At approximately 1/4 tank of gas, the computer "took over", and we're back to square one. (15.02 to 15.1 mpg). Now,that I've read all of the new developments and suggestions, I will not rest untill I've regained the original increase in mpg. Of course, it goes without saying, if anyone has any helpful suggestions, they would be most welcome. In the meantime, I'll keep you posted on any new developments from this end. Robt. | Wow, what a roller coaster. I don't have any advise as I'm on my first unit, but I would encourage everyone to post their results as you have. This will help everyone in the end to achieve much higher mileage. Good luck and keep us posted.

since you have a plain jane old 350, I would recommend ditching the computer and fuel injection and putting a carb on it instead. If you lean out the carb a bit you may see even better results. Getting a used intake manifold and carb will run you about as much as the electronics to make it work anyway, so why not?

I am getting my unit dialed in and have gone from 12.1 mpg yesterday to 21.7 today playing with the map sensor enhancer. Hang in there this stuff is great!

I will show him what you suggest. Who knows? Perhaps he might think it's a great idea. Personally, if it were up to me, I would take your advice. Thanks again.

I'll also show this to my friend, as he just ordered a map enhanser but is worried that he might have wasted his money. Frankly, the last 2 days have worn me out, just trying to cheer him up.

| I am just getting started with this as well. I have (3} 3 pint jars sitting in an old milk crate. I have the hoses from one jar to the other and the final hose going into the breather. In my last trip to Georgia from Florida I gained about 5 miles to the gallon. Not really that much but evey little bit helps. I don't get discouraged easy and, fiqure I will get it togeather the more I work on it. I am also working on a heater for the gas. It's quite different then the one shown in the book. Once I get it completed I will send pictures. Phil
