Ladies & Gentlemen,

We are ALL ... "Too close to the tree, to see the Forest".  There is a BASIC point we have over-looked: The AIR-FUEL RATIO

With just ONE Modification, we can say "Goodbye" to Efie's, MAF, MAP and O2 Sensors - - Just Install our HOD units ... and GO..!

As as you drive higher and higher into the mountains … the vehicle senses the thinner atmosphere <less Oxygen> and AUTOMATICALLY adjusts the FUEL Input to MATCH / BALANCE with the available Oxygen..!  It’s a Wonderful technology that will ALWAYS maintain that AIR-FUEL RATIO.

… and you have NEVER noticed it..!

THREE POINTS:

(1.) EVERY Vehicle can be Driven FARTHER on LESS Fuel..!

(2.) ALL HOD- Equipped Vehicles now only need ONE Modification..!

(3.) Only the TOP END is Affected.  <Speed, Performance, POWER>

The drive to work would seem perfectly ‘normal’ but would use LESS Fuel.  But you could not drive at 95 MPH any more and no more jackrabbit, rubber-burning starts.

EVERY VEHICLE IS DIFFERENT.

You must devise a mechanism for YOUR vehicle to RESTRICT the AIR FLOW to the CARBURETOR..!    … With An Adjustable, Dashboard CHOKE..!

YOUR VEHICLE WILL DO ALL THE REST.

<"Where" and "How" will follow shortly...>

ok- I'l bite. Have you run tests on this?  I can see what you mean and am all for it since I rarely drive 95 anyway.  If this works and I overlooked it, I am disappointed in myself, but glad that you figured it out.  I have been trying to adjust the ratio, but doing it (I thought) using the efie and Dmse.  Should be easy enough to put a flow restricting plate in the air intake and push/pull the handle inside to restrict or open up the flow to original.    Keep up informed please.

<I WISH I could claim this as my own..!>  Someone FAR smarter than I am 'worked it out'.  So, PLEASE ... If you can 'Shoot Holes' in it by DIS-proving it ... be my guest ... I am just as shocked as you are.

Another, but related story.  Evindude (Outboard Motors) came out with a new line of motors in the late 1960's.   They offered them in 6.0 Horsepower, 7.2 HP and 10.0 HP.   <The INSIDE Story is that they were ALL the SAME Motor>.

The 6.0 HP had a 'baffle' plate over the air intake - and a SMALL hole.  "Flat-out' <wide-open> it would produce 6.0 Horsepower..!

The 7.2 HP also had a 'baffle' plate over the air intake - with a LARGER hole.  "Flat-out' <wide-open> it would produce 7.2 Horsepower..!

The 10.0 HP had NO 'baffle' plate over the air intake.  Running "Flat-out' <wide-open> it would produce 10.0 Horsepower..!

ALL THAT WAS DONE = WAS SIMPLY RESTRICT THE VOLUME OF AIR..!

<..and I DID get a $500 ticket for doing 91 MPH in Atlanta awhile back. >

At least you didn't pass a Deputy flying over the highway at 125mph in a small plane!
(was embarrassing, but loved that 64 Chevy SS!)

Another thought. Just installed a scan-gauge and really liked the part where it said I got 9,999mpg!

Page 16 of the book says: "Some vehicles will turn the fuel injectors off when coasting. (I was)
This will cause the fuel economy to go to 9999mpg.
Is there a way we could trick the throttle position indicator intermittently to think we were coasting and cutoff the fuel???

The scary part is I can remember those Johnson/Evinrude engines.  I do believe you on the 91 mph in Atlanta--It takes that to just keep up with traffic sometimes  when on 285.  At least that is what my son told me when he got a ticket for doing 90 on I-75 one day.    I like the innovative thinking and ideas that come from this forum.  While some people whine and moan about how things don't work for them, others of us are out there trying our own ideas, borrowing info from others on the forum or just about everywhere we can get it.  Some of it works and some doesn't, but we keep at it.  A breakthru is only a matter of time with so many "mad scientists" working on it.

My first out-board was a 5 1/2 hp Johnson. How many of you remember having to wrap a line around the fly-wheel and yanking on it, to start it up?? You knew it was going to be a great day when it started on the second pull.

Now, if someone could help me out here, I would really appreciate it.

Recalling the "old days", when a car ran out of gas, one way to "prime" the carb. was to hold our hand over the top of it. This had the effect of causing the vacuum to draw the gas to the carb. (same as a manual choke.) I guess I need to know how restricting the flow of air to the carb. (injectors) wouldn't also cause more fuel to be drawn in.

Sorry I'm so dense about this, but it's a little beyond my experience.

No - you're not dense - It's SO Basic, it is hard to adjust to ....

As everyone shares their experience and expertise, we can see just how Very DIFFICULT it is to overcome the ECU - and all of it's sensors.

Restricting the Air Flow <Reducing the VOLUME of AIR> moves the fulcrum (!)and gives us the extra Leverage.

NOW, the ECU (and Sensors) Work FOR Us..!   WITH Us..!   Maintaining that 'Seesaw" = the AIR-FUEL RATIO = by leaning the FUEL and even changing the timing when necessary.

we37 thats what i thought too.

I have tried this and while being good for creating more of a vacuum in diesels it did little more than create a cloud of black smoke (fuel too rich)and no power .

Aaaah! I think I got it.

By restricting the air into the manifold, we cause the ECU to increase the airflow, which in essense, increases the AIR/fuel ratio, allowing the H.H.O. to be drawn in and used more efficiently. (?)

Naw, I ain't buying it.

JUST KIDDING!!   Actually, I love it. So obvious, it's unseen. I'll most deffinately be giving it a try.

Thanks for sharing this with us all!!
