we37 thats what i thought too. I have tried this and while being good for creating more of a vacuum in diesels it did little more than create a cloud of black smoke (fuel too rich)and no power . You must have posted while I was typing.  Though I still wonder, I will try it out and see what happens. Even though my installs have been getting great results, it's still a headache figuring out what works best with each vehicle.

| sorry i get it now with computer controlled cars- this is probably why newer cars can get high mpg saved air and fuel are set at % of each other, less air% means Less fuel % - the line where performance and economy will be a the hardest to test, and will be alot different for each vehicle

| Hi all good people here, As i understood so far that if we made the air coming to engine less the ecu will order the injectors to less fuel and the o2 sensor will feed back to ecu that the gas coming out is better, but when we give H.H.O. gas the o2 sensor will feed back that the gas having more o2, i wonder wht the ecu will react then????? Please correct me if iam wrong. Regards

My first out-board was a 5 1/2 hp Johnson. How many of you remember having to wrap a line around the fly-wheel and yanking on it, to start it up?? You knew it was going to bea great day when it started on the second pull.
Now, if someone could help me out here, I would really appreciate it.
Recalling the "old days", when a car ran out of gas, one way to "prime" the carb. was to hold our hand over the top of it. This had the effect of causing the vacuum to draw the gas to the carb. (same as a manual choke.) I guess I need to know how restricting the flow of air to the carb. (injectors) wouldn't also cause more fuel to be drawn in.
Sorry I'm so dense about this, but it's a little beyond my experience.

My guess is that when closing the choke, it will in theory cut off the air & I imagine make the ECU think it is rich.
Then the ECU should send a lean signal to the injectors. Remember most ECU's have a way of correcting for lean air because of altitude.

| WE37, You seem to consistently get very good results. Do you have a standard procedure you follow for all vehicles, then tune individually from there? How closely do you follow the W4G books? I thoroughly studied the books and I am putting my first system together this weekend. I plan to follow Ozzie's build instructions EXACTLY. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'd really love to give a resounding yes to your first question, but even though I got very lucky with my first installs, the answer would have to be; "Only in a very general sense". First of all, make sure that you, personally, verify the baseline mileage. Don't accept anyone elses word for it. Double check. As with all new technology, I am constantly changing designs and methods, looking for the best mileages possible. Consequently, my H.H.O. generators and methods bear little resemblance to the original ebook instructions. I still use the Mason jars for regular installations, but from there, you would only notice "simularities" to the original instructions. If you go through them, you will find a number of pictures here and there, of my innovations and what I consider improvements. You are welcome to contact me personally at any time if you need assistance. I don't know everything, but I'm trying!

| Possibly I'm the dense one but I'm not buying it. The MAP or the MAF are the primary controls. They will still try to maintain a 14.7 ratio. I am in agreement with Aussie John. Restricting air flow is not like going up in the mountains. Restriction changes the amount of air. Barometric pressure or density remains the same. All that happens is the power is reduced. Going up in the mountains reduces air density. Less dense air will reduce fuel consumption. Obviously the writer of this post is thinking and that is a good thing, therefore even though I strongly disagree I admire his thinking. but I can not buy his theor. It is simply no difference than keeping the throttle butterfly closed. Closing the butterfly will use less gas alright, but so will turning off the ignition. In any fuel injection system fuel amount is controlled by air mass (density) Even if a mass air flow sensor is used if the density is reduced the air flow goes down, this is why engines loose power at high altitude and gain at sea level. They also lose power at high ambient temperatures due to low density and gain at cold temperatures due to high density.

| Go to fuelsaver-mpg and read the tuning for mileage info click on docments at the top of the page its like eight pages long but I have followed this to a T and have had good MPG on all my test drives on my 1996 E-350 1-ton van 11.5 to 22.5 MPG best was 29 MPG the wind was with me using water4gas with 5/16"x24 S/Steel rods series (2) jugs 4.25 amps.
